Travel insurance

If you're planning on travelling out of the province or out of the country, Travel Insurance for Travelling Canadians gives you a simple, affordable way to protect against the cost of unexpected emergency medical expenses and more that may happen during your trip.

Your provincial health plan only covers a fraction of healthcare expenses incurred outside Canada and limits coverage when travelling to another province. Yet illness and accidents are just a few of the all-too-common incidents that could leave you facing significant out-of-pocket expenses when travelling.

Travel insurance is a comprehensive coverage that covers you for up to $10,000,000 CAD in emergency medical care including physician services, ambulance services, semi-private hospital accommodation, prescription drugs, diagnostic tests, treatment by registered specialists/therapists such as chiropractors and physiotherapists, and more. It also includes coverage towards the cost of bringing someone to your bedside and/or transporting you home.

Single-Trip plans protect you for one trip, while Multi-Trip or Annual plans cover you for an unlimited number of trips during one year with options for trip durations, no matter where, when or how often you travel. There’s no need to reapply for each trip, and you can easily upgrade the coverage if more days are needed. Quick out-of-province trips and planned vacations are both covered, and you don’t have to inform us of your travel dates.

Single-trip coverage is suitable if you only travel once or twice a year. However, if you travel three or more times a year, an annual multi-trip policy is more economical and flexible.

Travel Insurance also offers coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption and baggage loss.

Trip Cancellation Insurance - Before Departure covers the non-refundable portion (such as deposits or cancellation charges) of your prepaid travel arrangements.

Trip Interruption Insurance - After Departure covers the costs you would incur if you had to return home earlier or later than you had originally planned. It also reimburses you for any non-refundable portions of unused, prepaid travel arrangements

Travel insurance does not cover everything. Your insurance has exclusions, conditions and limitations. You should carefully read and understand your policy before you travel. Pre-existing medical conditions may be excluded. Any medical condition and/or symptoms you are aware of prior to the effective date, whether diagnosed or not, may not be covered.

If you are visiting Canada or returning without government insurance, it is wise to protect yourself against the unexpected with emergency hospital and medical insurance.

You can choose the options that best suit your needs and your travel budget. I can assist you in making the right descision for you.
